Since the end of World War 1, chaos had reigned in Germany. Determined to repudiate the Treaty of Versailles, and restore Germany to greatness, an elite paramilitary force was formed. The task for the SS was to purify the German people, ridding society of dissenters, critics and even those called 'work-shy'.
