The focus of this book is the party statutes of the CPSU. It contains the complete texts of all of the editions of the party Rules adopted between the party's foundation in 1898 and the XXVII Congress in 1986, plus the amendments adopted at various stages of the party's history. Changes in the texts of successive editions of the Rules are clearly marked, making for easy study of the development of the statutes. A long introduction discusses the importance of the Rules and notes the most significant changes.
