For over a decade, the United States House of Representatives' Committee on Homeland Security has worked to oversee and strengthen the nation's counterterrorism programs and policies. Established along with the Department of Homeland Security in response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the Committee has a responsibility to continually examine our homeland security effort-identifying weaknesses and providing solutions to address these shortfalls.
