The Rise and Fall of a Very Bad Girl recounts the story, told from the grown-up narrator's point of view, of a brief time when Serena, Audrey and Marl ruled their senior year of high school in an unnamed suburban town filled with both affluence and temptation. When a plot to kill their parents, a tongue-in-cheek wish of spoiled rich kid Marl, goes horribly wrong, Serena learns that trusting her best friend, and falling in love with new girl Audrey, will change the course of her life and those around her in ways that she never saw coming.
