The stories are an exploration, a journey into the human condition. The protagonist could be young or old, male or female. For certain, the epigraph-the poem that starts the orchestra-is relevant to one of the unifying themes: "Sperm and eggs on the shore/Are we nothing more/Than a life form/ With a God thought for company?"
