Publisher's Synopsis
Daniel Reynolds Jr. (DJ) is the last child of Daniel and Audrey Reynolds. He is a Ross and Stone University senior with his mind set on graduating to become a wealthy data scientist for every business in Crestview. Being in a relationship with a woman is the last thing on his mind. The women at Ross and Stone are not for him. His last relationship with a girl who cheated on him with his basketball teammates and every man in the city left him broken and hurt.
Paige Davidson is a single mother of two little girls and a Ross and Stone University student who works at a local grocery store. Like DJ, she has been hurt in a past relationship by the father of her children and does not trust men. Her inconsistent relationship with her father hasn't helped ease her trust issues. Grief has also consumed her for years. On his way to campus, DJ sees Paige stranded in the middle of the road with her girls. He believes he is doing the right thing by stopping to help her. A simple good deed leads to him doing more acts of kindness for her. Helping her turns into him learning about her. DJ finds himself struggling to accept that he has become attracted to Paige. After confessing his attraction and wanting to date her, Paige doesn't give in easily. Once she starts to budge, things go well for the duo. The moment she goes all in, she begins to experience a wave of trials and tribulations. DJ is right there with her through them all until he is told she is cheating with his good friend. Paige tries to explain herself, but DJ refuses to hear her side of the story. Paige feels Audrey is the one person who can help the situation. She heads to Crestview in the middle of a severe thunderstorm that ends in her being in a three-car life-threatening accident. Will DJ find out the truth, or will regret eat him alive? Will Paige pull through the accident? Will she have the endurance to face the biggest trial of her life?
