Princess Leela makes her home in the cozy loft above the ice cream parlor. Many princesses before her have held a grand Jubilee Party to greet the people of the land with a royal wave, but shy young princess Leela is afraid of big crowds. What if all the people laugh at her? What if no one waves back? How can Leela face the people of the land with these terrible thoughts in her head?
One day, while out walking and enjoying the sunshine, Leela finds the dearest little bracelet. Not entirely sure how it got there, she puts it on and discovers it's a perfect fit. A Lamb in the pasture speaks to her with a comforting voice, telling her not to be afraid. The Lamb reminds Leela of her beautiful value as a beloved princess, and with that encouragement, Leela goes home to face the Jubilee Party. But when Leela sees the crowds gather, she starts to panic. Will Leela be brave enough to make the royal wave?
The Princess Above the Ice Cream Parlor aims to instill young girls with the confidence and faith to overcome life's many challenges. Teachers, group leaders, youth groups, counselors, parents, and Sunday school leaders can use the book to start important conversations about being brave in the face of the things that scare us. Together with Leela, children aged 4 to 11 can learn to overcome fears and anxieties and fulfill their destiny.
