The prince is an expanded analysis of how to obtain and maintain political power. It includes 26 chapters and thanks to Lorenzo de'Medici. The dedication shows that Machiavelli intends to discuss the manners of great men and the principles of prince rule in plain language. He did this to please and inspire the Medici family.The 26 chapters of the book can be divided into four parts: Chapters 1-11 discuss different types of principalities or states, chapters 12-14 discuss different types of armies and the proper behavior of princes as military leaders, and chapters 15-23 Discussing the character and behavior of the prince, chapters 24 to 26 discuss the desperate political situation in Italy. The last chapter asked the Medici family to provide food for the prince, and the prince will lead Italy out of humiliation.
