With the end of the Thirty Years War the external dangers to the Reformed of Zurich passed away. There was now room for internal development in the Church. The canons Of Dort were never adopted by the Swiss, yet there was no country in Europe outside of Holland, not even France, where they exerted so great a theological in?uence. This reveals itself and culminates in the Helvetic Consensus, the most scholastic of the Reformed creeds of the continent of Europe.
