Publisher's Synopsis

"The Precious Things of God" is a wonderful devotional aimed at stirring up the believer's heart to treasure some of the most sacred truths of Scripture that are meant to mold our thoughts, words, and actions in view of becoming and living more like Christ, our Savior and Lord. Octavius Winslow (1808-1878) has been able to put in this volume a whole chest of precious gems and truths for the spiritual edification of every believer. In this volume, Winslow deals with those things that are very precious to our God, namely: - Christ - True faith - Trials - The thoughts of God - Divine promises - Christ's blood - God's anointing - God's Word - Prayer - Christ's sympathy towards suffering - Death of the saints. Once you will start to read this, you can hardly put it down. This book has been originally published in 1859. The current edition has been edited, proofread, and slightly adapted for modern readers, together with an interactive table of contents for eBook readers. About the author: Octavius Winslow (1808-1878), a descendant of one of the leading New England Puritans, Edward Winslow, was born in London on August 1, 1808, and served as chaplain at Leamington Spa, Bath, and Brighton.
