This is a novel about a compassionate young boy who has a burning desire to be a pediatrician. He has many ups and downs on his journey. He is somewhat of a loner but makes some good friends along the way. It is a book about relationships between characters and their relationship with their God. The young man is totally focused on becoming a doctor and has the usual problems of hospital politics to battle as well as fatigue, hunger at times, lack of money, and loneliness. His family is supportive but lives on a farm in Kansas and cannot help him financially. He is the youngest and smallest of four boys. He is close to his next older brother who helps him some. The young, handsome doctor has a brilliant mind and a plan, which he follows relentlessly. Come along for a ride in Rusty and join our hero in Kansas where his heart always remained and where he was determined to practice his art of healing near his family home.
