This Teacher's Book accompanies a Pupil's Book, which aims to provide an in-depth study of the Plains Indians' way of life and the effects upon this of the ambitions and conflicting cultures of Europeans and others who sought a new life in North America during the 19th century. This is put into context by looking first of all at the various indigenous peoples of North, Central and South America, and the effects on these of the 15th, 16th, and 17th century European exploration and colonization of the Americas.;This book is part of a series written for the Supplementary Study units at Key Stage 3. "A Sense of History Supplement" provides resource material for the supplementary study units fully covering the Attainment Targets. Each Pupil's Book is in full colour and presents each topic in a lively and informative way. Throughout there are activities to encourage the development of conceptual understanding enabling pupils to acquire the skills they need to demonstrate progression within the Attainment Targets.;Each author adopts a structure and level which is most appropriate to the age, interests and needs of the intended pupils.
