Publisher's Synopsis
In 2002 when Brian and Jane Viner moved, with their three children, from a terraced house in cosmopolitan north London to a rambling grange in rural north Herefordshire, the move coincided with the fox-hunting ban and the threat of bird flu. Their subsequent adventures and misadventures - including poltergeists, runaway snakes and house-breaking pheasants - are hilariously related by a man desperate to embrace country ways and finally able to wring an ailing chicken's neck, while knowing that, despite his best efforts, he is destined always to seem more like a townie than a horny-handed son of the soil!
