Publisher's Synopsis

'The most picturesque medical series ever returned on sparkling form. Sky

high production values and solid scripts add up to a

winning return. Peak Practice is like an old friend coming back to visit.'

Stafford Hildred, The Sun

The sixth series of 14 x 60 minute programmes started in January 1998 confirming Peak Practice is one of the most popular dramas on TV achieving an audience of 12.4 million and an audience share of 53%. It is consistently the most popular programme on TV outside the soaps in the winter/spring schedule. Set in the fictional Peak District town of Cardale the programme centres on the local medical practice and the three GPs who work there. The series successfully combines high medical drama and the personal lives of the doctors and their patients. Adrian Lukis - best known for his role as Wickham in Pride and Prejudice - joins the cast, and a seventh extended series of 28 programmes for 1999 has been commissioned.

Peak Practice Companion revisits the series from episode one and chronicles life in the series over the eight years of its life. All the characters will be interviewed and the places where the series is filmed will be visited as will the people who bring the series to the screen. This will be an official book with the full cooperation of the producers and the Carlton network. Exclusive behind the scenes photos will be made available.
