Publisher's Synopsis
Jenny Fairburn lives in a small Devon town. She has lots of friends, has recently retired from a busy hospital and now keeps a watchful eye on most of her elderly neighbours. Crumble, her beloved dog, occupies a great deal of her time but she still manages to take her turn on the church cleaning rota and help out with the flowers. Her second husband is substantially younger than her and works for the local police force. He is generous and kind and their lifestyle is pleasant and fulfilling. They are learning to sail and take holidays abroad as often as they are able. So what more can Jenny possibly want? She's not sure. She had an unhappy first marriage and is well aware how lucky she is now.
