The Oxford Junior Thesaurus

This thesaurus will assist young children in their writing projects, and encourage them to be more adventurous in their choice of words. 1500 headwords are listed, and parts of speech and example sentences are given to guide children to pick the most appropriate synonym. Further explanations are often given so that children can learn about shades of meaning. There are also topic pages which deal more extensively with subjects such as animals, food, buildings and transport.
