Excerpt from The Oxford Deeds of Balliol College
The muniments of Balliol were inspected by Anthony Wood about the years 1665 and 1666, and in Wood ms. D. 2 there is a record of what he saw. It is satisfactory to find that all the deeds of which he makes mention are in existence now.
When this book was nearly complete, but before the Index was in print, a volume was discovered at Balliol which gives some notes about the houses which belonged to the College, made by various bursars from 1660 to after 1800. Some extracts from this volume are given in an Appendix.
