Some people are born to wilderness and some are called to wilderness. Those adventurers that grew up in woods and on rivers have a love for wild places, hiking remote trails, climbing high rocks, skiing backcountry powder, and rafting big rivers. There is where those that love wild places find each other. They develop their skills with experience, companionship, and luck. In time, they may become Old Boots. These Old Boots have an ease in the outdoors. Jack is such an outdoor adventurer. In time, these adventurers came together to in what they affectionately called The Old Boot Club. As they grew older, these adventurers gave a gift of one last trip to their chums in the club. He didn't want to go. He couldn't not go. The trip can be exhilarating. The trip can be terrifying. Scouting a roaring rapid with raucous thunder, a boatman can stand all day as far as the river is concerned. The river racing on its way to the ocean, it's no matter whether the boatman rides it or not. It's not personal, is it?
