Publisher's Synopsis
Homo atromitos are a species of advanced human beings with the ability to enhance their children's genetic makeup. They invented technologies that enabled them to make energy affordable from nature, nutritious food abundant from engineered microorganisms and protein-rich crops, healthcare affordable by prevention and genetic engineering, education affordable for all, and clean dress and hygienic living-environment affordable. The technologies that allowed to achieve these qualities in everybody's life eliminated social barriers and gave the farmlands back to nature. Everybody accepted diversity in harmonies. The earth turned into a sustainable green paradise with a vibrant ecology. This is the story told a billion years from now when people were observing the merge of Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxies. When the earth was still powered by the splendid sun. Hannah and her family live on the majestic Mount Pleiades. With the abundance of autoflyers, the mountain commute is not daunting for nature lovers. Hannah and her husband, Osman accepted the challenging solitude on Mount Pleiades to relish in the natural beauty that surrounds them and enjoy exploring the starry heavens - far from the city and its harsh lights. Things soon take an unexpected turn. Osman is summoned back to his work station aboard the Stephen Hawking Space Station in the middle of his paternity leave. His team is to analyse and project information from a disconcerting space anomaly. Up to that point, the galaxy merger between the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies had caused little disruption to their lives. Left alone with their daughter, Hannah is ill prepared for the disastrous effects of the anomaly. In the wake of a fierce earthquake, the sun disappeared, leaving the world in darkness. They find themselves in perilous conditions. All resources around them are becoming scarce. Lack of energy from the sun challenges their survival and wellbeing beyond their capacity to solve. They are trying to do anything possible to extend their survival using resources available around them.
