Publisher's Synopsis
'The Naughty King Series' is a set of five books, combined under the one cover, that retell the Biblical story of the plagues of Egypt, sent by God, to effect the release of the Hebrew people from slavery. The books of the series are: book 1 'Frog City'; book 2 'Mossie Squadron'; book 3 'Fly Fleet'; book 4 'Locust Lift Off; and book 5 'City of Tears'. The books are written from the perspective of the creatures sent by God to plague pharaoh, the enslaving, disobedient King. Each book contains interactive activities, humour and suggestions for parents or teachers using the material. This series is designed for the younger reader but can provide enjoyment and value to the older child as well. In Book 1, 'Frog City', Wilfred Froggle is introduced as the observant bystander who reappears in both books 2 and 5. Wilfred's purpose is threefold: firstly, to keep the focus on God's desire for obedience; secondly, to keep the reader engaged; and thirdly, to maintain focus on the real reason for the plagues - Pharaoh's continued disobedience. The purpose of the series is to draw attention to, and promote discussion around the vital concept of obedience to God.
