*Mexican Standoff* is the first work of the Mystery Sojourner series of open-range mysteries for the spirit restless. Clinton Brighton was born on a cattle ranch northeast of El Paso, and some miles north of the Mexican border, on August 11, 1915. In Clinton's late teens, while at an evening fiesta 'south of the border, he got involved in a pistola duel with a rival suitor. The outcome resulted in enormous consequences for decades thereafter, continuing to the present.
