Publisher's Synopsis
A gas drilling crew stumbles upon a cave with mysterious properties in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Southern Colorado. Their discoveries trigger fear in Jarosa Canyon. A specialist from Colorado State University if called in to investigate the cave and the artifacts in it. The specialist and a local law enforcement officer find many skeletons of ancient Spanish Conquistadores along with mummified remains of Native Americans. Their investigation produces alarming phenomena that nearly kill them. Flashbacks to the early settlement of the area profile the importance of Greenhorn, a famous Comanche Chief. The modern day investigators experience flashbacks to the battles between the Spanish and the early Comanches. The mystique of the Sangre de Cristos resonate today alongside the modern development of the area.
