Publisher's Synopsis

The Moses Stern Chronicles are loosely based on my Uncle. A 1950's detective who did whatever it took to make a living. He lived on the fringes of society because, "People who live there are too busy just trying to make a living to put on airs." The society and political era are fully involved and as so this is not politically correct in any sense of the word. We begin to recount his stories in the spring of 1953 and as winter comes Moses life takes on a change. Soon after the New Year, Moses finds himself back in his usual down on his life luck. Friends and family play a large part in Moses' life and the characters presented here are as much a part of the story as are the cases he takes on. Matrimonial work make up the bulk of his work, but when you are scraping to make a living even finding lost dogs is not beneath him. If you are looking for the idealized 1950's this book is not for you.
