The matter contained in this little book contains no originality except an attempt to collect and combine ex tracts from various authors and present them in as plain and simple a manner as possible, so as to make it readable to the unlearned, as well as to answer the arguments of my friend who has followed in the track of many of his brethren who have written on the same subjects before him. The quotations-are taken generally from the works of Pendle ton, Ford, Booth, Stuart, Fuller, Mell and others, whose Christian character for truth no 'one can with reason doubt.
