Emigrating from Ireland in the mid-1740's, your trail fans out to Virginia and eventually to the Western Pennsylvania counties of Clarion and Venango. The spelling of the surname McGinnis is uniquely American, more specifically, Pennsylvanian. As with many other people living in Western PA, we share Irish diaspora heritage.
