IN the Chamberlain Collection at the Boston Public Library is an ancient letter which will be of great interest to a large proportion of those who can trace their descent from Pilgrim ancestry. This letter, dated 6 February, 1631 (16 February, 1632, new style), IS in the well-known handwriting of Governor \william Bradford, and on the fourth page was addressed by him as follows: To olt nvorpn good freinds mr xvinthrop Gove'r of the Massachusetts 81 the rest of the Counssell ther. It was signed by Governor Bradford, also by Capt. Myles Stand ish, Thomas Prence (afterwards Governor of Plymouth Colony), Doctor Samuel Fuller and John Alden. As Thomas Prence had married Patience, the daughter of Elder William Brewster, and the letter Contains references to Edward \vinslow (after wards Governor of Plymouth Colony), and to Richard Church, who married Elizabeth, the daughter of Richard Warren, this document, which is reproduced in half-tone as the frontispiece of this issue, will be of especial interest to the thousands of descendants of the Bradford, Standish, Brewster, Fuller, Alden, Winslow and. Warren families.
