Becoming seriously wealthy in Australia, Magwitch anonymously funds Pip and returns to Britain only to be recaptured as a felon. Awaiting execution, Magwitch perishes in prison, leaving his heirs, Pip and Estella, to travel to Australia in search of the Magwitch fortune.
