Anahita is the beautiful daughter of a saddle-maker, born in the golden city of Samarkand; where people are poor, but happy. Her beauty catches the eye of a young prince and they are destined to be together - until an evil magician appears out of the desert and claims Anahita as a slave. She defies him, but at a price: as in revenge, the magician conjures up a cruel spell to punish everyone in the city.
