Publisher's Synopsis
This is a tale of magic and friendship. Jilly Jumbly is an eight year old nature child who lives in the small countryside village of Hereweare and spends her days chasing butterflies, gathering fallen leaves and playing under the trees. Harriet Horridlygood is a girl whose naughty schemes threaten the village with plans to drive a Motorway through so Jilly takes action to save all that she loves. With the help of unexpected magic, some of the village comes to life to help her and a fast and funny adventure builds to an exciting climax. The story gently shows children some contemporary life lessons about the wonder of nature and the environment; standing up for yourself against the odds and most of all about the power of the truest magic of all: that of love. If you liked the part prose, part verse style of 'The Gruffalo' or 'The Cat in The Hat' you will like this too. It is especially fun if read out aloud. Child styled, comical cartoons are used throughout to highlight key events in the story. This is the first in what will be a series of books themed around the Jilly Jumbly character.
