This is new playful multi volume series, The Life of Gumbo, takes you on a journey across the country. Gumbo, a rescue dog, leaves the southern streets of NODA Charlotte, North Carolina to live on the west coast in Los Angeles, California. Gumbo and his Mommy overcome unexpected events and have lots of new fun experiences on their journey in life together. The design was intended for various audiences including but not limited to adults, children and elderly. There are nuggets for all of us to learn about selfcare and partnership. A note from the Author and Creator, Kristen Thomasino. "This series is very important to me. Unexpected events happen. My little Gumbo, I didn't want hurt him and he was right where my foot needed to be at the top of the stairs in NODA in Charlotte. I tried to avoid him and missed my footing. I grabbed the railing with my left arm. I couldn't stop myself from skidding down the stairs to the bottom. That was in January 2016. We've been through a lot together since I rescued him, I got injured and we crossed the country. He was always with me. Watching out for me. Rescue animals are super important for Humanity. I tried to speak from his voice and at different stages of his development. The number one lesson I learned as his mother is that just like humans they need stimulation, interaction, good food and lots of love. They can be wonderful givers and amazing companions especially during hard times."
