Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Life of Dr. John Fisher, Bishop of Rochester in the Reign of King Henry VIII, Vol. 1: With an Appendix of Illustrative Documents and Papers
The reader may be also referred to an acute and ingenious paper in the Archaologia, V. Xxv. By John Bruce, Esq. F. S. A. Who, being nu aware of the existence of this work in a printed form, consulted the same original materials for the illustration of the same point, viz. The legal pretext for Fisher's execution. This essay has been used with advantage by Dr. Lingard in the last edition of his History of England.
