Publisher's Synopsis
Over one thousand years ago, central Mexico was on the brink of collapse. In the highlands, the Toltec civilization in Tula was at odds with the Mayan civilization in Chichen Itza. Xóchitl was the younger queen in Tula, a Purépecha princess by blood. Her only son was of warrior age, and as such she did not want to participate in any form of conflict, but the war would come to her whether she was ready for it or not. As the bloodshed began, many people were forced to take sides, which was easier said than done. Will Xóchitl be able to prove she has what it takes to survive this fighting, or get swept up in the chaos of personal politics?
