Publisher's Synopsis
Jane Croyland and her husband Robert have recently moved from the city into their dream cottage on the edge of Dartmoor, where they plan to pursue their successful careers, he as an architect, she as a freelance art lecturer. But the cottage has a history and as they settle into their new and idyllic existence Jane experiences unnerving sightings which force her with the help of their recently acquired friend Paul the troubled young village vicar to embark on research into what happened in this place four hundred years ago. Problems with her own fledgling marriage add unexpected and startling distractions to Jane's life. What she and Paul discover about the past is shocking and moving, and she realises that both then and now people's lives and loves are always complicated. Will events in the past affect the decisions she has to make as her life starts to spiral into disaster, and more importantly does she believe in ghosts?
