Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Lay of Havelok the Dane: Re-Edited From Ms. Laud Misc, 108 in the Bodleian Library, Oxford
2. Of this first edition in 1828 but few copies were printed; and, as the work was seldom to be met with, a new edition was printed by myself for the Early English d104 Society in 1868, with the permission and kind assistance of the first editor. A later edition was issued from the stereo typed plates, with a few corrections and additions, in 1889. An edition by F. Holthausen, with a carefully revised text, was published in London, New York, and Heidelberg in 1901, which I have consulted with much advantage.
