Publisher's Synopsis
The Laugavegur Trail is a lighthearted guide to Iceland's most famous and popular backpacking trek. More than anything, I want you to be happy with your purchase of this book, so know that this guide is written as a hiking companion penned by a volcanologist. If you are not a geologist, don't worry! I wrote this guide to be accessible to everyone. It is for those who hike with their eyes up - fascinated by the landscapes they see and curious about how they formed. While logistics are, of course, provided for trip-planning purposes, I encourage you to keep up with ever-changing trail conditions through Ferdafelag Island (https: //www.fi.is/en/laugavegur/laugavegur-conditions). The book is also complimented well by the Serkort #4 (Landmannalaugar Fjallabak) 1:100,000 topographic map.
If you are looking for some recreational reading while on the path, I encourage you to check out my fantasy novel, called "Laugavegur: A Novel" (available through Amazon). It is paced well for trail reading and will give you some easter eggs to go looking for along the way.
