Excerpt from The Latter-Day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 65: November 12, 1903
The speaker read a passage from the eleventh chapter of Deuteronomy and another from a section of the Doctrine and Covenants to show that the teach ings of the authorities of the Church to-day are the same as have always been taught by the servants of God. He admonished the Saints to daily read a chapter of the Bible, Book of Mormon, or the other standard Church works before their families. He felt anxious that we should impress the world with the fact that we love the Savior.
He spoke of the in?uence of education, not only of the Church schools, but also of the district schools. He advised the Saints to send their children to the district schools, and not take them out at the sixth or seventh grade. He hoped that the Saints would see that their children are properly educated. He bore his testimony to the truth.
The choir then sang, We thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet, and benedic tion was pronounced by Elder David H. Cannon.
