Publisher's Synopsis
On his way from a business trip, Tom Dietz exited the freeway in search of fuel and food but could find neither. Caught on a rural road in a severe thunderstorm, he pulled to the side of the road and waited for it to abate. While checking his car for damage from large hailstones, he heard a child crying and followed the sound to a car that had skidded over an embankment. He rescued the occupants, a woman, and her seven-year-old child, and continued his journey. Low on fuel and hungry, they were forced to take an unknown dirt road and seek assistance. The road led to an agrarian community occupied by a strange religious sect who held them prisoner on suspicion of murdering two of their residents on the day of their arrival. Their lives were in danger, so a daring escape from the community was their only way out. A page-turning thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
