Publisher's Synopsis

This is the third book in the series that chronicles the lives of Allison Torres and Michael Reed as they meet and fall in love after an unlikely meeting on the bullet train in the year 2028.

Allison has joined him and is helping run the new American Soccer League that is in its second year. Book two, Power Play, ends with an unbelievably successful meeting in New York City at CBS headquarters. Thanks to Allison's intuition, they were able to get a lucrative TV contract with CBS to televise all the league games for the next three years.

This episode begins the morning after their return from New York, on their tenth floor balcony. Allison tries to reflect on how she was able to convince a top CBS executive to offer such a lucrative TV contract .Michael joins her and they later realize they may have conflicting goals for league management. She wants his job as league commissioner.

At the same time a pair of young astronomers at the Kitt Peak Observatory in Arizona notice the Asteroid Apophis has hit an object and may have been deflected to a path closer to earth. It's big and it's coming very close. They begin tracking this big rock to determine if the public should be notified of a possible direct hit.

Allison continues to have the best and the worst of times and faces another surprise attack that may be the Chicago mob. The league finishes the second year with huge success and they begin plans to expand from eight to twelve teams.

There are several surprises that end with a final twist in an epilogue disclosure explaining many of the previous events.
