Aboard the Sloop of War, The Lannwedhenek, Commander Henry Smythe is lying in his cot. Its 1700, and his ship is on Barbary watch on the North Cornish Coast. But trouble is brewing in Europe. The King of Spain, Charles II has died childless. There are two claimants to the throne, Phillip of Anjou, Grandson of the French King, and the Archduke Charles, Son of Leopold I of Austria. The Lannwedhenek and her crew are pulled into the War of the Grand Alliance, and the attack on the city of Cadiz.
