The word Hikikomori comes from the verb Hiki: to withdraw and Komori: to be inside. There is no more appropriate word to name a kingdom lost in time and in the confines of all that is known.
The origin of the kingdom of Hikikomori tells the story of a few chosen by destiny to carry out an epic of resilience and courage. Fleeing from a miserable world dominated by a tyrant, they discover by chance a secret place in the confines of the Sea of Japan where they can hide from their tormentors, but that place is more than a hiding place, it is the door to the opportunity to start from scratch to create a new and fair society where they can live in peace and prosperity. The birth of this nation of hope without the mistakes of the past is marked by events beyond the control of its founders. Conspiracies, unknown secrets, conflicting wills and the inscrutable designs of hidden forces intertwine to shape the triumphant or apocalyptic destiny that awaits its protagonists.
We can escape from an enemy, from danger, from poverty and hunger and even from bad luck, but there is one thing we cannot run away from, and that is ourselves.
