When he is visited by two people from his CIA days, he helps each to achieve their specific goals. Later, he is tasked with defending a judge accused of murdering a prominent Cuban exile attorney in front of dozens of horrified witnesses. When his client refuses to assist in his own defense, those same two old associates help Gannon uncover the judge's motive. Will it be enough to keep the judge off death row? The mystery includes courtroom drama, romance and intrigue set against a background of actual historical events.
