Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1919, Vol. 25: Published by the John McCormick Institute for Infectious Diseases
The outstanding feature of this work on complement fixation with in?uenza serum is the large number of positive results with certain strains of the viridans group of streptococci isolated from cases of in?uenza at Camp Meade and in Chicago. The evidence indicates that such organisms probably played an important part in the morbid process even in other places. Serum from in?uenza patientsiin several differ ent places appears to have acquired similar new properties.
