Publisher's Synopsis
A survey of the major topics of the Bible for both those brand new to Christianity as well as longtime Christians wanting to brush up on their Bible knowledge. It reveals in simple terms the tools that lace the boots on our faith to set our spiritual lives in motion. It constructs floor by floor the Christian fundamentals from basic to advanced.
A few descriptions of living the Holy Spirit inspired Christian life include claiming God's promises by faith with resultant inner peace and courage. It includes being thankful to God for every blessing in life and daily rejoicing in Him. It includes unshakable confidence in God's promised glorious eternal future that eliminates fear of death. It includes daily striving against fleshly sinful temptations to be a better person in Christ's image. It includes following Jesus Christ's servant-leader model of personal humility. Most of all, it includes reflecting God's infinite love back to Him and onto all others around us, and in the process, transforming our humble lives into flames in the darkness. Who does not want to live a life like that? How does one live a life like that? Chapter One describes eternal salvation in enough detail to shatter many common myths and misconceptions. It details just how our Lord Jesus Christ paid the penalty for humanity's sins on the cross and how simple faith in Him credits us with His justifying righteousness. It describes that it takes more than just being a good person to escape the quicksand of sin - one must grasp Christ's offered hand by faith, "for, the righteous man shall live by faith" (Gal. 3:11b NASB). Chapter Two describes how to claim God's promises by faith - for no life is free from daily problems and worries. God has given us the ultimate solution to all fear, worry, and anxiety. When we claim His promises by faith, we have strong confidence in life no matter what dark storm clouds we may be facing. Chapter Three is on eager anticipation of God's promised eternal rewards called hope in English translations of the Bible. Keeping one eye focused on eternity gives us a balanced perspective towards the transience of materialism in this life and what really matters. When we fulfill God's plan for our life, He blesses us with abundant blessings that will be exponentially magnified throughout all eternity. Chapter Four dons our spiritual climbing gear and summits the towering Matterhorn of the Christian life- unconditional love that is modeled after Christ's. This is the top rung of the Christian spiritual growth ladder. The top two commandments of the Bible are to love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. Chapter Five explains how the Church Age fits into the overall Biblical timeline of human history and the incredible spiritual assets God has given us. Chapter Six wraps everything up with a final review and church challenge.
