Some time since, being engaged with the delivery of a course of Lectures on the physical principles and mechanical construction of the prime movers of machinery, I entered into some details regard ing the circumstances under which the sources of mechanical power exist in Ireland, and took occa sion to correct the exaggerated ideas usually enter fained of the disadvantages under which this coun try labours, in regard to mechanical industry.
