Publisher's Synopsis
ICU
The modern hospital frequently develops outpatient facilities in addition to emergency, psychiatric, and rehabilitation services in order to better meet the diverse requirements of the community. Additionally, day surgery and purely ambulatory (outpatient) care are provided by "bedless" hospitals. The facility receives patients for brief appointments. They may also stay for part of the day or the whole day for treatment in surgical or medical units. After that, they are sent home to be followed up on by a primary care doctor.
