Publisher's Synopsis
Foreign Correspondent Serge Dunlov, first introduced by Schmetzer in The Children of Si-tho, is back. This time he is deep in Latin America's Dirty Wars. His assignments take him from Mexico's Tlatelolco massacre to a one-year spell in Castro's Havana, followed then by a posting to Chile for the election and the bloody fall of Salvador Allende. There he lives a turbulent romance with a Chilean medical student who is tasked to convince the various Latino guerrilla groups to join a democratic movement. A sanguine military coup then has Dunlov desperately combing the city and morgue for his love, only to be recalled from Chile by his agency.
