Publisher's Synopsis
The first volume of The Hindu Gods and Goddesses: The Book of Hindu Mythology, my aim is to offer a doorway into the heart of Hinduism's divine tradition. This is not a scholarly exposition, nor merely a retelling of old tales. Rather, it is a guided journey-a respectful and accessible presentation of the gods and goddesses that form the spiritual backbone of Hindu culture.
Each chapter explores the origins, attributes, myths, and philosophical meanings of a particular deity. The gods and goddesses are not only characters in mythological dramas, but also symbols of cosmic forces, human virtues, and psychological realities. Whether it is Shiva's dance of destruction, Vishnu's avatars who restore balance to the world, or the compassionate strength of Durga and the serene wisdom of Saraswati-these divine figures speak to us in ways that transcend time and geography.
