The fascinating history of the Hastings family of Boylston, Massachusetts. Thomas Hastings arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1634 as part of the Great Migration. His decendents, beginning in 1724, made their way through the wilderness to an area in Central Massachusetts that would later become the Town of Boylston. They established themselves as farmers and through five generations built a family enterprise lasting into the 20th century. The Hastings were stewards of the land and stalwarts within the community during a period in which family farms were critical to the Central Massachusetts economy and society.
