HE Guardian's Instruction is ranked by bibliographers as a scarce book indeed, it is possible that not many book-lovers of the present day have handled a Copy of it. Even the Lambeth Palace Library, that stately and peaceful home of so many seven teenth-century volumes, the shrine of an example of at least one tiny book (of the time of Charles the Second) which I hardly hope to encounter elsewhere, has no copy of The Guardian's Instruction.' The present edition of that little treatise is reprinted from a copy of the book which is now in the possession of Mr. F. E. Robinson.
