Laid in is an oblong pamphlet in stapled wrappers, 'The Roads of France' by Nevinson, with 4 colour-printed reproductions of the artist's work along with 3pp. of text (unsigned) - a scarce piece of ephemera, apparently contemporary with the book (the British Library, one of only a handful of institutional holdings, date it to 1918).
FIRST EDITION, colour-printed frontispiece tissue-guarded and 24 monochrome plates, all reproducing work by Nevinson, pp. 23 + Plates, 4to, original quarter green cloth and boards, printed labels to upper board and backstrip, that to latter slightly toned and a little chipped, gentle rubbing at extremities with a touch of wear at corners, edges untrimmed, later ownership inscription in pencil to flyleaf, front hinge starting, good
